Rotary Club of Kandy together with Rotaract Club of Kandy and Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya organized a bicycle rally in line with World Polio Day to raise awareness about polio eradication. The rallywas supported by Rotaract Clubs, Interact Clubs, and the general public. The event was scheduled for Sunday, October 19, 2025, starting from Queen’s and ending at the Kandy Municipal Council. The main purpose of the rally was to educate the community on the importance of vaccination and to show collective support for Rotary International’s global polio eradication initiative. Rotaract Club of Kandy joined with 5 members, and several partnering clubs confirmed participation through a roll call. The event highlighted the importance of staying committed to ending polio and helped spread this message through public engagement. The initiative was shaped by clear objectives: To support Rotary in World Polio Day. To raise public awareness on polio and highlight the importance of vaccination. To show community-level commitment towards global polio eradication efforts. Through this initiative, the Rotaract Club of Kandy demonstrated its enduring commitment to service above self, bringing together dedicated members who worked collaboratively to create meaningful outcomes for the community and strengthen the bonds of fellowship within the club.
