Generous 4.1 and 4.2 was organized as a community service initiative focused on collecting and distributing gently used items to individuals and families in need. The project aimed to encourage sustainability, kindness, and social responsibility by giving usable items a second life while supporting underprivileged communities. The project collected donations including clothes, footwear, accessories, bags, and other essential items through the support of club members, families, friends, and personal networks. Donations were gathered over an extended collection period, with contributions received from several areas around the country including Kandy, Colombo, and Anuradhapura. The project targeted the collection and distribution of over 1000+ clothing items and essentials. Convenient drop-off locations and pickup arrangements were also coordinated to encourage wider public participation. The project was conducted in two phases to maximize its community impact. Phase 01 of the distribution was carried out on 24th October 2025 in the Hanthana area. The project’s central objective was to to support underprivileged families and individuals with essential items. To collect gently used items for donation while promoting a culture of sustainable reuse and responsible consumption. To encourage community participation through donation drives. To establish Generous as a recurring community service initiative. Through this initiative, the Rotaract Club of Kandy demonstrated its enduring commitment to service above self, bringing together dedicated members who worked collaboratively to create meaningful outcomes for the community and strengthen the bonds of fellowship within the club.
