The Christmas Gift Box Project is a signature annual initiative of the Rotaract Club of Kandy, dedicated to supporting children from underprivileged communities as they prepare for the new school year. In 2025, the project was carried out on a larger scale in partnership with the Rotary Club of Kandy, Educate Lanka Foundation, and DSI, extending its reach to students of K. Thiruvalluvar School. Through this initiative, 187 students from low-income families received essential school supplies, includingstationery, school bags, and shoes, helping ease the financial burden on their families. Many of these students had also been affected by the recent cyclone, making the support even more meaningful. More than just providing materials, the project aimed to uplift spirits and ensure the children could begin their academic year with confidence, dignity, and renewed hope. The project’s central objective was to to support underprivileged students of K. Thiruvalluvar School by providing essential school supplies required for their education. To ease the financial burden on low-income families, especially those affected by recent natural disasters. To ensure that students are adequately prepared to begin the new academic year with confidence and dignity. To promote equal access to basic educational resources for children from underserved communities. To uplift the morale of students by showing care, encouragement, and community support. To strengthen collaboration between the Rotaract Club of Kandy and its partner organisations in serving the community. To create a spirit of service and social responsibility among the members involved in the project. Provided 187 students of K. Thiruvalluvar School with essential school supplies, enabling them to start the academic year prepared and confident. Reduced the immediate financial burden on low-income families by covering the cost of stationery, school bags, and shoes. Motivated students to attend school regularly with renewed enthusiasm and dignity.
