Chai Dansala 2026 was organized as a community service initiative during the Vesak season with the objective of fostering generosity, fellowship, and community spirit through the distribution of refreshmentsfree of charge. Rooted in the long-standing Sri Lankan tradition of Dansal, the project aimed to embody the values of compassion, kindness, and selfless service associated with Vesak while creating a welcoming environment for members of the public travelling through the area. The project was conducted on 30th May 2026 at Ampitiya, in front of Health First, from 3.30 PM to 7.00 PM. Members of the Rotaract Club of Kandy came together to prepare and distribute authentic chai to commuters, drivers, pedestrians, and local residents during the festive season. The initiative served as a platform for Rotaractors to directly engage with the community while promoting fellowship and volunteerism through meaningful service. The project’s central objective was to to successfully prepare and serve high-quality chai free of charge. To provide refreshments to commuters, drivers, pedestrians, and members of the public during the Vesak season. To execute the project efficiently within the allocated budget. To manage inventory effectively while minimizing wastage. To ensure smooth project implementation through proper planning and coordination. To promote fellowship and teamwork among club members. To cultivate leadership, project management, budgeting, public relations, and crisis management skills among members. To strengthen relationships with local businesses, residents, and authorities for future community initiatives. To inspire members to actively engage in social responsibility and volunteerism. To enhance the public image and reputation of the Rotaract Club of Kandy through meaningful service. To preserve and promote the cultural tradition of community service during Vesak.
